Although we missed greeting you from the world’s most beautiful and exciting city, Paris (of course …coming from a francophile), we have arrived in St. Malo and are now realizing that Paris has competition! Everyone loves it here. Summer is in full swing with warm days but with a little time at the beach just a couple blocks away we can not complain!Â
Â
Paris was wonderful and the energy of our group was amazing! Our second day – knowing that we had hundreds of steps ahead of us – the whole group voted to walk (yes, walk!) up the Eiffel Tower…all 747 steps up and of course all 747 steps down! If my pedometer is trustworthy we put in over 15,000 steps a day while in this magnificent city!

Our group is incredibly motivated and kind. Suffering from extreme fatigue with pre-trip preparations, sleepless airplane rides and continual touring in Paris, they kept going! Parents, you are to be commended for sending such a focused and energetic group with us this year. Pauline, one of our French staff, just said she is amazed at the extra effort each one of them makes in communicating in French (even though there is English around and easier to use – they continue the struggle). We have already noticed improvements and are delighted to have the opportunity to be spending this time with them.
Â
I have taken many pictures and will work to find a way to share them with you. At present we have found that our hoped for “cybercafe” in St. Malo has closed. Be patient with us and trust that if you have not yet heard from your participant, they are all well and dedicated to making this an unforgettable experience!

Best regards,
Dianne
